where i go?
I started the Habit Course this week. http://habitcourse.com/
It’s conducted by Leo Babauta, author of the Zen Habits blog, along with a few other experts on the skill of habit formation.
I am not good at routine, having very few consistent habits in my life (of a positive nature, at least). I tend to let the day unfold as it will, jumping from task to distraction and back. This forces me to make a lot of decisions about what to do with my time, all throughout the day. I’m realizing this gets to be debilitating at times, and is obviously not good for my productivity. I need more auto-pilot in my life.
So I am taking the Habit Course, hoping it can help me establish habit and routine, where countless other attempts have failed. I have read and respected Leo’s Zen Habits blog for a number of years now, so I’d like to think he knows what he’s talking about. Also, I really like the idea that creating habits is a learn-able skill, and one that requires training and practice before you can get good at it.
I want to be good at creating habits in my life. As I get older, I believe more and more that the art of good habits is at the heart of a fulfilling and accomplished life. I am ready to learn the skill of habit formation.
For my first habit, I am going to work on creating a daily meditation practice. I will be starting small, as the course demands, with 5 minutes in the morning, every day right after I wake up.
After successfully completing my 5 minutes, I will be rewarding myself with a song purchase off of amazon.com. I will then share my daily success (or failure) on this blog along with the song I have purchased.
Excited to begin this new chapter in my life. Thanks for your support!
